Dear Friends and Supporters:
As we look back on 2019, our hearts are overwhelmed with all that God has done! We don’t deserve to be used, but we sure are grateful that He lets us serve Him with our lives. In this past year, we have ministered in over 70 churches across America with revival meetings, youth meetings and conferences. We preached and sang in over 215 services and saw 237 souls trust Christ! Scores of young people have surrendered their lives to the Lord and dozens of young men have been called to preach. All across America, the altars were flooded with God’s people weeping for revival. Thousands were strengthened and stirred to actively become intercessory prayer warriors for our nation! TO GOD BE THE GLORY!! “This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes” (Psalm 118:23).
Our ministry has printed 248,000 Gospel tracts for churches across America to distribute, released 3 new music albums, published 2 books, and produced 2 children’s coloring books. We were blessed to film 3 new music videos with our dear friends at Majesty Music. A total of 30,000 miles have been driven by our faithful 15-passenger van (and survived by our now 4 kids!). You got to love the life of an Evangelist’s kid – where the van is their “home away from home”!
This past fall, the Lord blessed our meetings in Missouri, Indiana, New York, Iowa, and Wisconsin. Katie stayed home with the children while I travelled to many of the fall meetings, since she had just given birth to Julianna in September. David and Jonathan continue to enjoy school and excel in 2nd grade and kindergarten. They both are taking piano lessons from Katie now, and all 3 kids love joining Dad and Mom singing in churches.
In December, our home church, Marion Avenue Baptist Church in Washington, IA put on their annual Live Animal Christmas Show, which we are grateful to be a part of with writing, co-directing, acting, and singing. David (age 7) got a speaking/singing role this year, which he was thrilled about! He has always been the imaginative, energetic, dramatic child of the family, and therefore excelled in his role in the Show! We praise God for the 5,575 different people who attended the 9 showings and the 323+ who made professions of faith! This year, we live-streamed a couple of the performances and over 4,000 people across the world were able to watch the Show that way! What a blessing!
In January, one of the most touching of our music videos was released featuring Ron Hamilton singing, “I Saw Jesus In You.” He wrote this song years ago in honor of his dad, but its message continues to challenge each of us to live a life that shows forth the glory, goodness, and Gospel of Jesus.
We have recently released Katie’s first piano solos CD entitled, “Meditative Hymn Classics,” which features 50 continuous minutes of softly played hymns. Our prayer is that this music will calm your heart, fix your soul on your Savior, and aid in your worship of Him, the study of your Bible, or the peaceful atmosphere of your home.
Another new CD we’ve recently released is Volume 4 of our “Old Tyme Gospel Hymns and Sacred Solos” collection. This album will be entitled: “Songs from the Sawdust Trail.” It contains an hour of hymns that have been digitalized and re-mastered from phonograph records – many of which are from our private collection. They are some of the most prized Gospel hymns used during the Billy Sunday campaigns and the nation-wide revival of the sawdust trail over a century ago. We are praying that God will use them to stir the hearts of His people for old-time religion and ignite a longing for revival in the 21st century.
We also have just finished “Reflections of the Sawdust Trail” – an album that contains the only audio known to exist of Homer Rodeheaver (Billy Sunday’s song leader and music organizer in the evangelistic crusades for 20 years) sharing his personal experiences with Billy Sunday. Recorded over 75 years ago, he warmly reflects on the life and labor of one of America’s greatest evangelists. May the Lord use this testimony to stir hearts for personal and national revival!
Finally, we are extremely happy to announce our newest book project, “A Biblical Approach to Music” – a 335-page hardback with endnotes, perfect for a family, teenager, church choir member, music director/pastor, or anyone interested in learning what the Bible says about this often-avoided “hot topic.” This book is a Scriptural, thought-provoking, easy-to-understand, authentic, thorough study aid and guide to Christ-honoring music. We are thankful that many leaders in the field of conservative music have endorsed it; they believe that it will be a great resource for your church and home!
These new CDs, our book on music, and all of our other ministry resources can be found on our website: www.remnantministriesonline.com.
We look forward with great anticipation to this new year and pray we will be faithful – that our fervor will grow and our light will shine brighter as the world grows darker. We desire that the Holy Spirit’s power will enable us to see more churches stirred, hearts revived and souls saved this year than ever before! We have already seen the Lord do marvelous things already in January – with meetings in West Virginia, Indiana, Illinois, and Iowa. Thank you again for your prayers and support! We are so grateful for each one of you! Let’s keep praying together for national revival!
For the Lord’s Glory,
EVANGELIST CALEB GARRAWAY
