Fall/Winter Report 2018

Dear Friends,

The fall and winter of 2018 has been a whirlwind for our family with many highlights, along with a few hard moments. Nevertheless — through it all — God has been so kind and good to us. Just a few days after I wrote our last newsletter, we found out that my dad, Warren Garraway, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He immediately began regiments of chemotherapy, but the treatment had no effect since the cancer had already spread to his lungs and liver. On December 29th, my dad went Home to live with Jesus.

I’m so thankful I got to spend a lot of time with Dad the week before he went Home. As I hugged and kissed him, I whispered, “I will see you again.” I nodded to Mom while I did so as she looked on, and we both knew this was probably the last time I would see him on this side of eternity. I had many cherished memories on that visit — including getting to watch Dad lead his last soul to the Lord!! I was also able to lead someone to the Lord with him shortly after (It’s a longer story). That was a HUGE BLESSING!! We looked at each other afterwards and rejoiced that it was like old times.

Dad’s translation into eternity was painless and effortless. We are all sad that he is no longer with us on this side of the veil, but we know that one day we WILL see him again. We will even spend a thousand years together back on this earth during Christ’s global reign! Heaven has become so much sweeter!!!! Truly, the best is yet to come…. PRAISE GOD!! I am so happy for him and I have no regrets. I was able to read Scripture and sing to him often over the phone and on video chat. I was able to speak with him often in his final days here upon this earth. I also sent several audio messages of hymns that they could listen to over and over again. The last hymn I sang to Dad was “Wonderful Peace” — you should look up the words…. So powerful!!

It has been hard, I have wept many tears (and that is okay and healthy) but I do not sorrow as those who have no hope (I Thess. 4:13) — because we REJOICE over dad’s faithful life for Christ and his place now in the realms of Glory!! (Yeah! II Corinthians 5:6-8! He REALLY IS walking on literal streets of gold right now!!!) He was “faithful to the finish.” One thing Dad told me before he passed was, “Son, you keep doing the will of God and go down swinging….” I’m thankful that I was blessed with a man of God for a father.

We left home in August and held meetings in Wisconsin, Indiana, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, and Maryland. We also were thrilled to get to preach and sing for a regional Pastor’s conference in Canada in November! It has been a humbling thing to witness the Lord move mightily in our meetings. Many times, I couldn’t even finish the message when the Holy Spirit said to shut it down and people would begin to come to the altar.

We are overwhelmed with what God has done in 2018. We are so thrilled to serve Him! The “Revival Road” has been exciting this year as we ministered in 21 states and Canada, with over 300 people coming to know the Lord through our evangelistic endeavors, and 145,000 Gospel tracts printed and distributed through our subsidiary ministry: www.silentwitnessliterature.com. We had the joy of being in 76 churches, preaching 220+ times and singing over 500 times.

We had a couple of treats this fall. In August, we had some really special opportunities to be a part of a couple ministries with Patch the Pirate and Majesty Music. David was asked to play a character for the latest Patch the Pirate adventure, and he recorded with them in August (after working hard to memorize his lines in July!). You can purchase a copy of this adventure called “The Incredible Race” on our website. Then, Katie and I had the chance to fly to Virginia to speak/sing at a Majesty Music Conference. The Hamilton’s ministry has impacted our lives since we were small children and now it continues to impact our kids as well! We are grateful for the faithfulness of their family and the friendship God has allowed us to enjoy with them.

In October, we hit the studio to record with a symphony orchestra for our next album! This had been a dream of ours ever since we got married. Katie conducted, while I worked with the engineer and Shelly Hamilton in making sure all was captured perfectly. We are beyond excited to be able to release this CD sometime in February 2019. Jonathan (age 4) recorded on it for the first time and Alyssa (age 2) even made a little debut as well! We pray the messages of the songs will encourage hearts and inspire God’s people to press on, stay faithful, and finish their course strong so they can one day hear Him say, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”

My editing work on “Redeeming Hope” continued this fall. I was able to film additional scenes, which will transform this short film into an actual feature-length film! I plan on finishing the editing once our music album is done this spring. We are excited to release this POWERFUL evangelistic movie. (Special note: My dad plays the part of the soulwinner!)

We sang and acted in our church’s Live Animal Christmas Play again this December. Even the boys got to act as extras this year – they loved getting their costumes and stage makeup on and getting to be part of the play! We added an 8th showing this year for special needs/disabled/deaf guests. The Lord greatly blessed with over 5,000 visitors and over 300 saved!

The end of 2018 marks TEN YEARS of full-time evangelism. We are humbled at what the Lord has allowed us to experience by His grace in His will. Since our first travels in the fall of 2008, we have driven over 300,000 miles, preached in 40 states and 4 other countries, seen 5,087 souls saved, and have printed/distributed over 730,000 Gospel tracts. To God be the glory!! “This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvellous in our eyes” (Psalm 118:23). “We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.” (Luke 17:10).

We rejoice in what God has done and look forward to what He has in store for our ministry according to His will! Thank you for your support, and please — I beg of you — keep us in your daily prayers. We need the power of the Holy Ghost to anoint our lives, and it is our yearning that the breeze from the Heavenly Country will continue to blow upon our meetings as we travel. We love you!

Your friend and servant,

Evangelist Caleb Garraway
